Pastor Sonya Burnett was born in Atlanta. Her family moved north when she was young and returned to LaGrange, Ga. when she was 10 years old. She is the eldest of two children (she has a younger sister). After graduation in 1983 from LaGrange High School, Pastor Sonya attended West Ga. College in Carrollton, Ga. as well as LaGrange College in LaGrange, Ga.
Sonya moved to Atlanta at 19 years old. She met the love of her life (after Jesus), Pastor David and they married in 1987. God has blessed them with two children, David Jr. and Arielle Faith. David and Sonya served faithfully 13 years at Stronghold Christian Church in Lithonia, Ga. where Ben and Sherry Gaither are Pastors. Sonya served as a Christian Counselor, a Children’s Church Teacher and also worked with the Children’s Choir as well as the Baptism Committee.
When God called Pastor David to launch Living Stones Christian Fellowship, the Pastors and Elders of the church ordained Pastor David as Senior Pastor with the laying on of hands. Pastor David’s first act as Senior Pastor was ordaining his wife Sonya as Pastor. The ministry held its first service on January 27, 2008.
The church is located at 693 Kirkland Rd. in Covington, Ga. Pastor Sonya has a heart to see the lost saved, to let those that have lost hope know there is always hope in Jesus and there is a God ordained purpose for their life. Pastor Sonya also has a burden to be an encourager to those who were abused as children as she was.
She wants the world to know if God can save, redeem and restore her, He can do it for you also because He is no respecter of person. She currently resides in Covington with her husband.
